Table Runners Galore

"I often use Table Runners when staging the store each month. Fabric adds so much softness and can ground any look."
Too much fabric. Those three words have never been uttered at JTB Home Furniture + Décor. We can’t imagine life without a bounty of fabric in it! We’re big believers in adding multiple fabric touches in every room in our house. Whether it’s window treatments, pillows, throws or table runners, fabric pieces not only set a tone for our homes but also add coziness, character, and individuality. Fabric can change a look of a room with a relatively small investment.
Today we are going to focus on the table runner. Our dining room can be a neglected room in our house as it relates to fabric. Most people don’t have pillows and throws strewn about in dining areas which can cause the room to feel utilitarian.
JTB Home Furniture + Décor Store Owner, Stager, and Decorator Tracey states, “I often use Table Runners when staging the store each month. Fabric adds so much softness and can ground any look.” Just in case you’re not willing to take our word for it, we took comparative photos of a vignette without table runners and one with table runners.

Isn’t the difference amazing?
Our store offers a variety of Table Runners from professionally tailored to woven Farmhouse-style. We try to keep basic colors in stock at all times and sprinkle in seasonal prints. If you’re not sure where to begin when adding table runners or want to get more creative, we have a few tips for you below.
- Layer Two table runners. Look for a table runner that is just a bit smaller than the bottom table runner.
2. Layer table runners in different directions for a unique look. This table shows a basic runner lengthwise on the table with three runners in a fun print across the width of the table.
3. Most of our table runners measure around 14” wide by 54” long. We find the 54” measurement to be proportionately appealing with many of the tables that we sell. We occasionally carry 72” long runners but if you can’t find the length you want, butt two runners together to create a longer look. For a casual drop, let the table runner hang over the end of the table by 6”. For a more formal look, choose a longer drop.
4. Runners don’t need to only be on a table! To create a cohesive look between your table and your buffet, coordinate table runners for both.
5. Runners in unexpected places! Runners on Bookcases, Dressers, Sofa Tables, and even a Mantle add so much to the décor.

Almost all our table runners are made from decorator or upholstery fabric so therefore, not meant to be washed. We recommend moving them or somehow protecting them from spills when it’s time to eat or spot cleaning areas where accidents may happen.
