Rule of Threes

When beginning to decorate, a simple tip to remember is that odd numbers of items always creates more interest than even numbers. Decorators love to use the “Rule of Threes”. Three is a good number because it tends to be less overwhelming in most spaces and creates the illusion of symmetry, which will bring cohesion to a space and add polish to any look. Although groupings of three is a safe starting point, play around with groupings of five, or even seven, if the space to fill is big. If space is tight, using one unique accessory may be the most effective. Whatever the space or the skill of decorating, a blossoming decorator cannot go wrong with the rule of threes!
